For the Sunday "Laetare - rejoice" the mood of the liturgically prescribed texts lightens somewhat: We experience this in settings by French composers. The church music of Camille Saint-Saens is still to be rediscovered even in France. He wonderfully expresses the longing for the house of the Lord in Psalm 84 in a setting for choir and piano.
