Nord gegen S\u00fcd – so k\u00f6nnte man das Aufeinandertreffen der beiden Komponisten des Fr\u00fchbarocks Hieronymus Praetorius aus Hamburg und des Norditalieners Giovanni Bassano bezeichnen. Die “Deutsche Biografie” von 1886 schreibt \u00fcber das Werk Praetorius’: “Der weiche, volle, wahrhaft berauschende Klangeffect, den die Italiener dieser Zeit entwickelten, geht ihm v\u00f6llig ab. Kraftvoll, gem\u00fcthvoll, innig, ernst bis zur Rauheit, das sind die durchgehenden Charakterz\u00fcge in seinen Werken”.
