Wieder gibt es englische Renaissance-Musik zu entdecken. Thomas Tallis wirkte in einer Zeit, in welcher es in England lebensgefährlich war, Katholik zu sein. Seine herausragenden musikalischen Kompositionen sowohl für die katholische als auch für die neue anglikanische Liturgie schufen ihm ein hohes Ansehen, das ihm Leben und Einkommen sicherte.
