Drei zeitgenössische Chorwerke, geschrieben für den Gottesdienst, prägen diesen NoonSong. Die Liturgie von Herbert Howells ist erstaunlich modern und außergewöhnlich herausfordernd. Arvo Pärts berühmtes Magnificat, für den Berliner Staats- und Domchor geschrieben, nimmt den Hörer durch schwebende Rhythmen und fulminante Akkorde, welche sich um den immer gleichen Ton der Sopranistin herum auftürmen, in Bann. MacMillan führt die Frauenstimmen komplex über ein immer gleiches Ostinato der Männerstimmen.
